Patron Services Associate

Kansas City Actors Theatre Performance Venue(s) – Including but not limited to City Stage Theater (30 W. Pershing Rd. B-Level, KCMO 64108)
Hours:
Varies based on performance schedule. 10 hours or less during prep week, and up to 36 hours during heaviest performance weeks. Visit https://www.kcactors.org/season-21/ for full Season 21 performance schedule.
Status:
Seasonal – Four weeks per production. Estimated date ranges for 2025 – 2026 season: 5/20/25 to 6/16/25; 7/29/25 to 8/25/25; 9/2/25 to 9/29/25; & 2/24/26 to 3/23/26. Opportunity to extend seasonal work for future seasons and productions.

Job Description:
Patron Services Associate
- Sell tickets through phone calls and walk-up tickets on performance dates through the Agile Ticketing application after receiving training
- Manage and track volunteer signups via SignUpGenius
- Prepare Will Call list and manage patron check-in during performances
- Organize and assign patron ADA requested seating.
- Set up and strike the lobby for each production (some heavy lifting required)
- Manage volunteers and supervise during performances
- Manage concession stand, including inventory and sales reporting
- Monitor lobby during performance, including patrons entering and exiting during performance
- Manage cash box and report on cash sales of tickets and concessions nightly
- Purchase concessions using company funds when necessary
Position Requirements:
- Excellent organizational and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with patrons, supporters, donors, and community members
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs including Word and Excel, and comfort with learning new technology platforms (Agile Ticketing)
- Be a creative and strategic thinker, with good judgement and the ability to make independent decisions in a changing, occasionally fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel to and from Union Station, and occasionally secondary sites
- Ability to interact with others via technology, face-to-face, and collectively
Qualifications:
Education:
- Minimum high school degree required.
Beneficial Work Experience:
- Experience working in sales or a customer facing role.
- Experience working in management preferred.
- Experience working in and around theatre preferred.
Time/Pay:
- Seasonal
- $450-$550/week (dependent on experience)
