The KCAT Claques are the “friends and volunteers”
support behind Kansas City Actors Theatre.

Why “Claques”? It’s a French theatrical term that basically means “an organized body of professional applauders.” We liked the term, and it stuck.

If live theater is what motivates you toward volunteerism, consider becoming part of our growing family of supporters. Throughout the year, KCAT has opportunities in the following areas:

  • Social networking – sharing news about KCAT productions and fundraising activities through your own e-mail contact lists or through your communities on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace etc.
  • Ushering – at certain performances, we need knowledgeable friends to hand out programs and to represent us at the KCAT information table
  • Fundraising – our ongoing development work requires smart and motivated people who can help organize fundraising events, assist with donation efforts, and even stuff and label envelopes
  • And so much more – who knows what help we’ll need as we continue to grow and prosper?
